Whole Energy is calling attention to a potential concern with fuel that we have recently distributed. As a precautionary measure, we have temporarily halted distribution while we identify the root cause and implement a solution.
We have identified a white, milky precipitate that falls to the bottom of tanks holding biodiesel product. This material as well as the biodiesel we have in inventory meets the ASTM D6751 standard--yet it has the potential to clog fuel filters. Because we see potential customer problems, we have chosen to stop distribution.
We have conferred with national experts on this problem who have conjectured that the problem is inherent to the soy biodiesel that we have been importing. We are working aggressively to identify the root cause and methods to mitigate the problem.
